Fite Eye Center has locations in Clinton Township and Romeo, Michigan.
We provide all aspects of routine, medical, and surgical eye care. The services that we provide include Cataract surgery, LASIK surgery, glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, Diabetic eye care, as well as Dry Eye diagnosis and treatment.
Appointments at our facilities can typically be obtained within a short period of time, and emergency appointments are available.
When it comes to diagnosis and treatment, our patients are evaluated using the most modern and accurate technology that is available today.
An example of this technology is Spectral-Domain Optical Coherence Tomography, commonly known as SD-OCT.
This instrument provides detailed imaging of the structures in the back part of the eye, most importantly the optic nerve and macula.
Analyzing these structures is critically important in evaluating a patient for diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.
OCT has a resolution at the micron level (about four hundred thousandths of an inch !), which allows us to evaluate structures that are often invisible to the naked eye.
When it comes to surgery, our patients are cared for in a state of the facility, the Truvista Surgical Center. Truvista is focused on eye surgery and the special needs of eye surgery patients.
An example of this focused care would be during cataract surgery. After a cataract (or cloudy lens) is removed from a patient’s eye, an Intraocular Lens or IOL is inserted into the eye. This is a man-made lens, consisting of an acrylic or silicone material, and is intended to remain in the patient’s eye for the remainder of their life. Each lens has a certain power or prescription built into the lens. In the office prior to surgery, the power of the lens required to give the patient the best vision is determined by precisely measuring the shape and length of the eye. During surgery at Truvista, this power can be refined using Optiwave Refractive Technology (or ORA for short). ORA measures the eye’s prescription or refraction after the cataract has been removed, but before the new lens is inserted into the patient’s eye. By using ORA technology, the power of the lens can be modified in real-time, to give the patient the best vision after surgery.
Fite Eye Center is committed to giving our patients the best vision, by using the best technology that is available today.
